Ken Abeling.  This is a rather advanced arrangement of a chart you will find on anyone’s list of top ten best Dixieland songs ever written!

I Want a Little Girl, Words and Music by Murray Mencher and Billy Moll for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet, arr. Ken Abeling.  This is an easier advanced to advanced Dixieland arrangement of an old Vaudeville favorite.

Struttin’ With Some Barbecue, Don Raye, Lillian Hardin Armstrong for  Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet and arranged by Kenneth Abeling.  This is an easier advanced to advanced arrangement of one of the most popular Dixieland songs of all time!!  

Mac & Johnson’s “Charleston” or “The Charleston” as it is most frequently referred for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Kenneth Abeling, is a bit of a workout. The chart is in typical Dixieland fashion with both written solos and chord changes for improvised solos are provided throughout. The rarely used introduction begins the piece as it works its way into frenzy at the end!  Suitable for numerous performance occasions your audiences will love this staple of the American Jazz/Dixieland library.

I’ve Found a New Baby, Music by Spencer Williams and Lyrics by Jack Palmer for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet  and arranged by Kenneth Abeling.  This is an advanced arrangement of one of the most popular Dixieland charts of all time and a must for your Dixieland library!!

 

St. Louis Blues written by W. C. Handy, arranged for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet, is an essential chart in any Dixieland library. This arrangement is suitable for professional musicians and reachable by less experienced ensembles.  

 
Basin Street Blues written by Spencer Williams, first published in 1926 and made famous by a Louis Armstrong recording in 1928 is a Dixieland favorite. This arrangement for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet features solo sections by all in the ensemble and a fun read for the professional Quartet while still being accessible to younger or less experienced musicians. 

 
Dixieland Medley for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet or Woodwind Quintet is a collection of five “Dixieland-ish” favorites to include: “That’s a Plenty”, “After You've Gone”, “Alexander's Ragtime Band”, “Margie” and “At the Jazz Band Ball”.  This is an advanced Intermediate arrangement.
A Closer Walk with Thee for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet is a quintessential New Orleans funeral dirge that has numerous playing applications and an all-time Dixieland favorite. This arrangement is suitable for professional musicians and reachable by less experienced ensembles.
Royal Garden Blues for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet is a well know and readily recognizable Dixieland classic. This arrangement is suitable for professional musicians and more experienced ensembles.

This is a collection of four popular songs by George Gershwin to include, "Somebody Loves Me", "Swanee", "The Man I Love" and "Fascinating Rhythm". It is a Moderate to Moderately difficult arrangement and is suitable for general performance. 

Irish Folksong Suite is a collection of popular traditional Irish Folksongs arranged for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. The titles include: 1. When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, 2. My Wild Irish Rose, 3. Molly Malone (Cockles and Mussels), 4. The Irish Washerwoman and 5. Drunken Sailor. This is a versatile arrangement that allows the songs to be played individually, as a medley in the original order, or any of the selections in any desired order. The arrangement is moderately advanced and perfect for most St. Patrick’s Day and other Irish celebrations. 

Mozart's universally known Serenade in G - I. Allegro, K. 525 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik' or, a little night music for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet. This is movement I. Allegro. It is an advanced level selection and appropriate for many performance applications.

La primavera - I. Allegro from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi transcribed here for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Kenneth Abeling.  This is movement I. Allegro and is suitable for Advanced Intermediate to Advanced musicians. It is appropriate for numerous general performance applications including Religious Services and Weddings!

And With His Stripes We Are Healed from George Fredrick Handel’s Messiah, transcribed for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This is an advanced intermediate transcription from Part II of Handel’s Messiah and appropriate for sacred Easter events. The organ part is completely optional but will enhance the transcription if available in a church setting and employ an organist!

Behold the Lamb of God from George Fredrick Handel’s Messiah, transcribed for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This is an advanced intermediate transcription from Part II of Handel’s Messiah and appropriate for sacred Easter events. Breden Väg För Herran by Finish composer Frans Mikael Franzen arranged here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This hymn is the basis for and can be used for instrumental versions of “Prepare the Royal Highway”, “Prepare the Way to Zion” and “The People Who in Darkness Walked”. This piece has several performance applications throughout a traditional Christian worship service particularly during Advent. The Organ part is optional but adds a nice touch if available.

Here I Am to Worship – Words & Music by Tim Hughes arranged for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This is an Advanced Intermediate level arrangement of Hughes’ very popular worship ballad and fitting for traditional and contemporary religious services.

 
Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone? by George Nelson Allen is the Hymn from which “Take My Hand Precious Lord” was derived. It is a favorite Spiritual, arranged here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This is a relatively easy arrangement and is suitable for a variety of occasions.

 
When I Survey the Wondrous Cross by Isaac Watts arranged here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Kenneth Abeling is a favorite Easter time hymn. This intermediate arrangement is a more modern treatment of the timeless classic.

It Had to Be You, lyrics by Gus Kahn and music by Isham Jones arranged here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintett. This delightful song, and timeless standard, has appeared in several films and recorded by such prominent vocalists as Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Barbra Streisand. This is a moderate to moderately difficult arrangement appropriate for numerous performance opportunities and audiences will enjoy this memorable tune.

Amapola, Music by Spanish American Composer Joseph Lacalle (formerly Jose Maria Lacalle Garcia) and arranged here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This lovely piece has been recorded by dozens of prominent vocal artists, Operatic to Pop, and instrumentally as well as being featured in several movies. This is moderate level “Tango-ish” arrangements and suitable for general performance and other special events such as Weddings. 

String Quartet No.1 in F major, Op. 18 No.1, I Allegro con brio by Ludwig van Beethoven transcribed for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet and Woodwind Quartet. This is an advanced level transcription of the first movement of Beethoven’s celebrated String Quartet No.1 and is suitable for general performance applications.

Water Music Suite No. 2 in D Major – 2. Alla Hornpipe (HWV 349) by George Frideric Handel transcribed for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This is Movement is perfectly suited for general performance religious services or Wedding Ceremonies.

Amazing Grace! How Sweet the Sound, Lyrics by John Newton set to the hymn tune New Britain for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Kenneth Abeling. This is perhaps the most well-known Hymn of all time reflecting Newton’s path to Christianity and prayer for forgiveness as a former Slave trader. This more contemporary and moderately easy level arrangement is appropriate for a variety of religious events.

Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho arranged for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Kenneth Abeling.  This is the final installment in a series of popular African American Spirituals.  It is an easier advanced level arrangement and is appropriate for all religious services and Black History events.  

Lift Every Voice and Sing, by James & John Johnson and arranged here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Kenneth Abeling is a favorite spiritual! This is a relatively an easy to intermediate arrangement and is suitable for a variety of occasions.  

Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen arranged for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Kenneth Abeling.  This is a more contemporary arrangement of yet another ageless African American Spiritual.  It is an Intermediate level arrangement and is appropriate for all religious services and Black History events.

 
Swing Low, Sweet Chariot arranged for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Kenneth Abeling.  This is yet another in a series of timeless African American Spirituals.
