It's Been a Long, Long Time Music by Jule Styne and Lyrics by Sammy Cahn arranged for Clarinet Quartet by Kenneth Abeling. This is an intermediate level arrangement of the chart-topping Big Band hit from 1945.

Washington Grays or Washington Greys written by Claudio S. Grafulla transcribed here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This is an advanced transcription of Grafulla’s march written for the 8th Regiment during the American Civil War.

First Suite for Military Band in Eb, Op. 28/a by Gustav Holst transcribed here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. The three movements are: I. Chaconne - II. Intermezzo - III. March. This is an early advanced to advanced performance level transcription.

This is an early advanced to advanced performance level transcription.

The Marriage of Figaro (Overture) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart transcribed for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This is an advanced level transcription of the overture to one of Mozart’s most popular operas.

Theme from The Simpsons by Danny Elfman, arranged by Kenneth Abeling for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet This is an advanced arrangement but an upper ossia staff with a simplification of the more difficult passages has been provided to make it accessible to less experienced players. This is based on one of the earlier versions of the theme to this enduring Cartoon legend.

The Stars and Stripes Forever is arguably John Philip Sousa’s most famous march and the Official March of the USA, transcribed here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Kenneth Abeling.  This transcription is of an easier advanced to advanced level difficulty.

“Witchcraft”, Music by Cy Coleman & Lyrics by Carolyn Leigh for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet, arr. Ken Abeling.  This is a more advanced arrangement of another Frank Sinatra staple. Sketched in the same “Opus” as “Lullaby of Birdland”, if you liked that chart, you will like this one as well!

El Capitan, transcribed here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet, is another one of John Philip Sousa’s famous marches. This transcription is of intermediate level difficulty.

This intermediate level arrangement of Handman’s charming melody has been recorded by dozens of popular artists dating back to 1927. Perhaps most notably on the list is Elvis Presley.

The song was popularized most notably by Cab Calloway, Bing Crosby and Fran Sinatra but recorded by dozens of prominent vocal artists. 

Teach Me Tonight, Lyrics by Sammy Cahn & Music by Gene De Paul arranged for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. This popular song, and now jazz standard was first published 1953 and widely recorded. This is an advanced intermediate arrangement.

Concerto à 4, TWV 43:G6 by Georg Philipp Telemann. Originally written for Recorder, Oboe, Violin and Continuo (Basso) and transcribed here for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet,(all with optional Organ) by Kenneth Abeling.  This is an easier advanced level composition and suitable for both secular and sacred performances.

This is a collection or medley of three of George M. Cohan’s favorite patriotic songs arranged for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet by Ken Abeling.  The songs include; 1. “Over There!”, 2. “Yankee Doodle Boy” (commonly referred to as “I’m A Yankee Doodle Dandy”) and 3. Grand Old Flag.  This collection can be played as individual songs or as medley.  It should be playable by a good middle school group but advanced and professional musicians will find use for this arrangement during patriotic holidays and certain ceremonies.

Dream a Little Dream of Me by Wilbur Schwandt, Gus Kahn, Fabian Andre arranged for Clarinet Quartet by Kenneth Abeling. This is an intermediate level arrangement of the song popularized by Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day and perhaps most notably by Cass Elliot.

The Girl From Ipanema by Antonio Carlos Jobim, arranged here for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet, is a staple in any professional quartets Jazz repertoire. However, this arrangement is still accessible to younger or less experienced Quartets.

The 1812 Overture (for Clarinet Quartet). Festival Overture "The Year 1812" in E flat major, op. 49 or The 1812 Overture by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky transcribed for Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. It is often performed in the US alongside other patriotic music at Fourth of July celebrations. This is an advanced transcription and loyal to the composer’s original intent.

Ave Verum Corpus (Hail, true body) transcribed for Brass Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, Saxophone Quintet, String Quartet, Woodwind Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet with optional Organ by Kenneth Abeling. Ave Verum Corpus is considered to be one of the most beautiful classical compositions ever written and certainly one of Mozart’s most memorable. This is a rather easy arrangement, performable with the Organ (or not cues added) and suitable for various religious or sacred events including Weddings.
